power

power

five years ago

tsunami
shattering
structure of
power

nuclear power

shattering lives
poisoning forever
means of living

terrific
scientific
advancement
feeding the frenzy

terrifying
hunger for power

my neighbor
lives with the seasons
feeds the worm bins
grows her greens
stays warm under layers
airs out the mold

no heat
no car
no plastic

(I am in awe!)

nuclear heat
Fukushima
meltdown

remember the windmills
along coast of
Japan
defeating destruction
constructed
for onslaught by
power of nature

tsunami itself
reached shores of Berkeley
in a filmed event
only few inches high

we seem to stay clear of the damage
a big ocean between us
but all water is one
we cannot avoid it

nuclear heat
instantaneous damage
not likely to happen
they said
every time

power plants
of mass destruction
let’s arm ourselves
closer to the ground

Power of wind
Power of solar
Power of waves
Power of tidal
Power of earth
Power of people

to avert us
from more
nuclear fallout

small scale and local
no gas pipes
no tar sands

technology is there
we just need to
do it
